Bronze has natural properties that set it apart from other materials. Bronze does not rust and is therefore widely used in nautical applications and for some Edox diving watch cases, bronze will react with other elements producing a lavyer of oxidization on its surface. This patina then acts as a protective coating and makes every Edox bronze watch unique.

This technology, branded under the name of Super-LumiNova, offers brightness in low-light conditions, thanks to a non radioactive and non-toxic material like the tritium previousely employed in the industry.

Edox uses Super-LumiNova X1 for its highly functional attributes. It is applied on watch parts such as hands, numerals, bezel, indices, etc, especially on Edox diving watches.

Since the 70’s, Edox has specific quality and technical standards for ensuring the water resistance of diving timepieces. The Double O’ring crown and pusher has been engineered by Edox to allow to increase the resistance to water pressure.
