Damascus steel has fascinated craftsmen and collectors for centuries. Rooted in ancient forging traditions, it was prized not only for its exceptional durability but also for its unmistakable appearance — flowing patterns reminiscent of waves, flames, or wood grain.

Creating Damascus steel requires skill and patience. Multiple layers of steel — often combining different carbon contents — are stacked, forge-welded, and repeatedly folded, then shaped under intense heat and pressure. Once forged, the steel is cut into billets, machined, and heat-treated. Each bezel is then precisely crafted from this material, revealing its organic pattern through an etching process before being carefully fitted to the refined case of the Delfin Mecano.
